Who are we?

We are Thao and Fleur and work at DWF as an interim Recruiter and HR Specialist. We are currently on an assignment together at Land Life, a scale-up company that plants trees and thereby restores plant and animal habitats and ensures the absorption of CO2.

What do I do for work?

Thao: As interim Recruitment Specialist at Land Life, I am responsible for hiring new colleagues. Consider: the recruitment process from A-Z, optimizing recruitment processes, setting up and implementing a referral program and I am a sparring partner for directors, management and employees.

Fleur: As an interim HR specialist at Land Life, I ensure a smooth on- and offboarding of employees in the different countries. I maintain personnel administration, answer questions from employees and managers on HR-related topics, improve HR processes and systems, and interact frequently with the People & Culture, Finance, IT, management, international hubs, and external (international) payroll departments. and HR parties.

What is the best part of your job as a Recruiter/HR Specialist?

Thao: I get a lot of satisfaction from being able to talk to different people every day. I enjoy making candidates enthusiastic about the position and the company they will be working for.

What do you like most at De Wervingsfabriek?

Thao: Guido and Roos 😀 But I also like that I get the opportunity to work for so many different companies and see so many different corporate cultures and that really makes me think about what kind of organization I would like to work for. Moreover, the flexibility, the super nice colleagues and the opportunity to continuously learn and grow make it an enriching experience.

What have been your most important learning moments at De Wervingsfabriek so far?

Fleur: That you can do more than you think. And also that you shouldn’t always take yourself too seriously. Sometimes things just happen the way they happen and you can’t do more than your best (and that’s good enough!).

Tell us something personal about yourself!

Thao: I speak 4 languages: English, Bulgarian, Vietnamese and Dutch. I have a daughter Mia with my husband Marco, she is now 3.5. I lived in Amsterdam for 10 years, but we just moved to a small village (boring!!!).

What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time?

Fleur: I have a love for the city of Paris and I also lived there for a while. I still go there regularly in my spare time and I now also speak a little French. I also enjoy fashion, interior design and everything that has to do with finding clothes, jewelry and cozy things for the home. In my spare time I am often creative by making jewelry. When I’m in Paris, I like to browse the (vintage) markets looking for nice (second-hand) things.

What do you like most about me as a colleague?

Fleur: You do what you say and, above all, you are a very pleasant colleague! That we always speak half English and half Dutch to each other haha. And of course our walks through the Oosterpark.

What are people allowed to wake you up at night?

Thao: They can’t. My phone is always set to ‘do not disturb’ when I sleep.

What was your dream profession when you were little?

Thao: I wanted to be a doctor (nicely stereotypical with Asian parents haha).

Have you ever met someone famous?

Fleur: I used to be a huge fan of Shakira (I had scrapbooks full of scrapbooks and posters hanging in my room as a teenager) and I shook her hand during a concert (goals!).

What’s your motto?

Fleur: I believe you can do anything, if you put your mind to it!
