Backbase

Backbase is one of the Netherlands’ youngest unicorns. This internationally operating FinTech is led by founder-CEO Jouk Pleiter. Backbase helps banks and other financial institutions build their online environments through the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform.

Backbase is growing rapidly internationally, within all parts of the organization. This requires building international teams in countries where there is sometimes no Backbase entity yet. Almost all developers and sales engineers work in Amsterdam. Many of them are recruited from abroad and helped with relocation. Backbase was looking for an experienced interim professional who could help Jouk Pleiter further expand the international sales organization.

Our commitment

Between 2017 and 2020, Guido Dekker worked (in two periods) for Backbase as an interim sales recruiter. He successfully hired several sales people in Amsterdam, London, New York, Bogota, Frankfurt, Dubai, Singapore, Tokyo and Melbourne, among others. Guido was responsible for all sales and marketing hires worldwide. During the assignment, he was asked to oversee Backbase’s recruitment team as interim lead recruiter and was closely involved in the hiring of senior leadership positions.
