Yokoy is a fintech AI startup, founded in 2019 in Switzerland. This start/scale-up has rounded up an investment from Sequouia’s Series B which must expand Yokoy significantly. Moreover, the financial AI solutions are in full development with their portfolio expanding by multiple smart products.


De Wervingsfabriek was asked to broaden the European market when Yokoy opened a new headquarters in Amsterdam besides Switzerland, Munich and Vienna. The current recruitment team (3 FTE) then, had no experience regarding scale-ups. Therefore we were requested to deliver an interim Head of Recruitment that would be able to apply a strong strategy. This resulted in the realization of the hyper growth (90 FTE to 250 FTE) that we planned together.

Our commitment

Marlies Vernhout, started as the Head of Recruitment. She applied restructuring and implemented a recruitment system. We defined which jobs to fill, created profiles and implemented various processes. The recruitment team needed to be put on the map as a team that possessed the proper expertise for the organization. In regard to the expansions goals, an additional recruiter was hired from our own team. When the foundation had been set, we formulated an employer value proposition together so we would be able to implement this in a new career page and assess our hiring policies. All to realize the desired growth.
